Overview
This article explains how to clean and calibrate a Zirkon® DIS/ ZIRKON® ONE DIS. The procedure applies to sensors used for Free Chlorine, Chlorine Dioxide, Ozone, and Hydrogen Peroxide.
Cleaning is required before calibration and before installing the sensor in the flow cell.
Cleaning Procedure
- Remove the sensor from the assembly and disconnect the cable.
- Wipe off visible contamination with a paper tissue.
- Rinse the sensor with clean water.
- Clean the metal bands carefully with powder detergent and a paper towel.
- Rinse thoroughly with water to remove all detergent residue.
- Reinstall the sensor and reconnect the cable.
Calibration and Stabilization
After reinstallation, the sensor must repolarize. During this phase, readings may be unstable.
- Typical stabilization time is up to 5 minutes.
- Start calibration only after the measured value has stabilized.
