Overview
Sensors connected to the NEON® ONE must be defined within Sensor Groups for proper recognition and assignment.
Good news: In most cases, sensor groups are pre-configured by Kuntze before delivery. Your system is ready to use – no manual configuration required.
This article is only relevant if you need to add new sensors later or see a "Sensor not recognized" message.
When is Manual Configuration Required?
- The message "Sensor not recognized" appears during connection
- Adding a new sensor to the system
- Adding a sensor via analog input
- Changing the sensor configuration
Important: Only users with Service-level access (PIN: 1818) can create or modify sensor groups.
How to Create or Edit a Sensor Group
- Log in with Service role (PIN: 1818)
- Navigate to: Menu → NEON® ONE Settings → Sensor Group Definition
- On the left side, assign a group name
- View the system-defined limits:
- Max number of Nodes
- Max number of Analog Inputs
- Press "Add" to define a new sensor or analog input
- Select the corresponding measurement type or analog input channel
- After all sensors have been added, press "Done"
- Press "Save" (top right corner) to finalize the group
Supported Sensor Types
| Sensor Type | Measurement |
|---|---|
| ZIRKON® ONE FT | Flow monitoring & Temperature |
| ZIRKON® ONE pH Universal | pH value (0–14) |
| ZIRKON® ONE DIS | Free chlorine, chlorine dioxide, ozone |
| ZIRKON® ONE TCL/Biocides | Total chlorine, biocides |
| ZIRKON® ONE ORP Universal | Redox potential (ORP) |
| ZIRKON® ONE EC | Conductivity |
| ZIRKON® ONE Sulfite | Sulfite concentration |
| Analog Input | External 0/4–20 mA signals |
NODE LED Status Indicators
Each NEON® ONE NODE has an LED that indicates the connection status:
| LED Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Solid Green | Correct installation and configuration completed successfully |
| Blinking Green | Sensor connected but no communication to NEON® ONE possible |
| Solid Red | No sensor connected to the NODE |
| Blinking Red | Wrong sensor type connected to the NODE |
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| "Sensor not recognized" message | Create or update the sensor group definition |
| LED shows solid red | Check that a compatible sensor is physically connected |
| LED blinks red | Ensure correct sensor type (ZIRKON® ONE series) is used |
| Cannot edit sensor groups | Log in with Service role (PIN: 1818) |
