This article explains how to clean a Zirkon® DIS Total sensor using a glass fiber pen before calibration or reinstallation.

Required Tools

• Glass fiber pen
• Clean water
• Lint-free tissue

Important Note

Note on white adhesive: A white adhesive/sealing ring may be visible near the sensor tip. This is normal and part of the sensor construction. Do not remove or scrape it off.

Cleaning Procedure

1. Remove the sensor from the assembly and disconnect the cable.
2. Rinse off loose contamination with clean water.
3. Clean the electrode/metal surface carefully with a glass fiber pen.
4. Use gentle pressure only and clean evenly across the surface.
5. Rinse thoroughly to remove all particles.
6. Dry with a lint-free tissue and reinstall the sensor.

After Reinstallation

After reinstallation, the sensor must repolarize. During this phase, readings may be unstable.

• Allow up to 5 minutes for stabilization.
• Calibrate only after the measured value has stabilized.
