Fast commissioning guide for Krypton® DIS (Total) with EU configuration.
Overview
This helpdesk article is written as a quick setup workflow for daily field use. It follows European requirements with metric units, EU mains cable types, and practical calibration steps.
- Power cable: Type F (Schuko, CEE 7/7)
- Line voltage: 85...265 V AC, 50/60 Hz
- Power consumption: 10 VA
- Pressure units: bar / kPa
Quick Setup (5-10 Minutes)
- Mount the instrument vertically on a stable wall board.
- Insert the DIS (Total) sensor into the disinfection flow cell chamber.
- Connect the DIS cable and check that all fittings are tight.
- Connect water inlet and outlet tubing, then close the sampling reference valve.
- Power on the instrument using the EU power cord.
- Check flow status on display and confirm stable operation.
- Run calibration with DPD reference value.
- Set outputs if needed (4-20 mA, relay alarms, ASR).

Flow and Pressure Check
If flow is too low, the display shows Digital input 1 - no water.
- Minimum inlet pressure: 0.5 bar
- Maximum inlet pressure: 6.0 bar
- Maintain a positive pressure differential from inlet to outlet (minimum 0.5 bar).
- Keep flow stable during calibration and operation.
Sensor Cleaning
Sensor cleaning is optional. Clean only when contamination is visible, response is unstable, or before calibration if required.
DIS Sensor Cleaning (Different from TCL)
- Remove DIS sensor from cable and assembly.
- Wipe contamination with soft tissue and rinse with clean water.
- Clean metal bands gently with mild powder detergent.
- Rinse with water and reinstall.
Important: DIS cleaning method is not the same as TCL membrane cleaning. Do not apply power detergent cleaning steps to TCl membrane.
TCL Sensor Membrane Cleaning
- Use a fiberglass pen for membrane cleaning.
- Move the pen gently over the measuring membrane in small circular motions.
- Do not use excessive pressure while polishing the membrane surface.
- After cleaning, check membrane condition before reinstalling or operating.
A clean TCL membrane should have a uniform color and be surrounded by white adhesive.
DIS (Total) Calibration
- Take sample water from the sampling reference valve.
- Perform DPD test.
- Open Menu > Cal > Cal DIS.
- Enter DPD reference value, then select OK and Save.
