Overview
This article explains how to set the ASR® cleaning frequency for Krypton® Multi and how to select a suitable interval for real process conditions.
Helpful article: What is ASR®?
Purpose of the ASR® Setting
ASR® (Automatic Sensor Cleaning) helps keep electrode surfaces active by limiting fouling buildup. Correct frequency selection supports stable measurement values and reduces manual maintenance.
Menu Path
To adjust the ASR® cleaning frequency on Krypton® Multi:
Main menu > In/Out > Multi > Cleaning
In this menu, set the number of cleanings per week.
Recommended Setting Strategy
- Start with a low cleaning frequency and increase only if fouling is observed.
- Do not configure frequent cleaning by default if process conditions are stable.
- ASR® is intended to keep the sensor clean during operation, not to recover a heavily fouled sensor.
- If the sensor is already dirty, perform manual cleaning first, then use ASR® to maintain the clean condition.
Available Frequency Range
- Configurable up to 1 cleaning per day (7 cleanings per week).
- Use the lowest effective setting for your application.
Operational Notes
- After each setting change, observe the trend over several operating cycles.
- If drift persists, verify sample quality, flow conditions, and sensor condition before increasing frequency further.
- Re-check settings after process changes or seasonal water-quality changes.
