This article explains how to set the identification name shown in the upper left of the desktop and how to reach related display options on Krypton® Multi and Krypton® DIS / DIS (Total).
Where the name appears
The current name is shown in the upper left of the main screen (desktop), for example Neon, Neon Multi, or a site label you entered earlier.
Change the instrument name (Text)
To personalize the name (site, plant, or location — maximum 10 characters):
- Note the name currently shown in the upper left of the display.
- Open Main menu > System > Display > Text (on some firmware builds you select the display icon twice: once under System, then again in the system display submenu).
- In the settings list, edit the field Text (identification / location). Enter your desired label and leave the menu to apply.
Note: When using Cloud Connect® and the DPD2CC app, use a site-descriptive name so the system is easy to identify remotely.
Other display settings (same menu)
In Main menu > System > Display you can also adjust:
| Setting | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Contrast | Display brightness, typically 0–100 %. |
| Desktop | Default layout or optional bottom bar (SD card status, contact line, mA bar, controller output, relays, flow — depends on licensed add-ons). Set to -------- to keep a layout you select by tapping the name on the desktop. |
| Autolock | After inactivity, access code resets to 0000 and the view returns to the desktop. 0 min = off. |
| Eco mode / Screen saver | Turns off backlight after inactivity (saves energy, extends display life). 0 min = backlight stays on. Label varies by firmware. |
| Touch Cal | Touch-screen calibration (same System > Display submenu). |
Desktop shortcut: On the running desktop you can often cycle the bottom information line by touching the instrument name (upper left), unless Desktop is fixed to a specific design in the menu.
Multi vs DIS (Total)
Menu paths and the Text field work the same on Krypton® Multi and Krypton® DIS / DIS (Total). Optional desktop rows (second DIS channel, extra relays, mA outputs) depend on hardware and activated add-ons.
