Overview
This article provides a quick reference for terminal assignments and cable color coding on the Krypton® Multi during installation and service. In every table below, the terminal column is the last column.
Terminal Layout
Open the enclosure and use the printed labels on the terminal strip to locate each block. If labels are unclear on site, verify numbering against this guide before energizing the instrument.
- Disinfection (DIS) cable terminals: 1, 2, 3, 4
- pH cable terminals: 15, 16
- FTG cable terminals: 20, 21, 22, 50, 51
- Power input: L (Live), N (Neutral), PE (protective earth)
Other connections: mA outputs use terminals 30–39; digital inputs, relays, and Modbus use additional positions on the same strip—see the dedicated articles for those groups.
Cable-to-Terminal Assignment
FTG cable (temperature and flow)
Wire colors and terminal numbers for the FTG temperature cable from the Argon StabiFlow® assembly. Terminals 50 and 51 are for the integrated flow switch (NO/NC).
| Wire color | Function | Terminal |
|---|---|---|
| Yellow (ge/YE) | T1 (Pt100) | 20 |
| Green (gn/GN) | T2 (Pt100) | 21 |
| Gray (gr/GY) | T2 (Pt100) | 22 |
| White (ws/WH) | Flow sensor, NO | 50 |
| Brown (br/BN) | Flow sensor, NC | 51 |
pH cable (terminals 15–16)
Connect the pH sensor cable to the instrument as follows.
| Wire color | Notes | Terminal |
|---|---|---|
| Screen | pH cable | 15 |
| Core | pH cable | 16 |
Disinfection (DIS) cable (terminals 1–4)
The disinfection cable connects the DIS sensor to the analyzer. Assign each conductor by function and color as follows.
| Wire color | Notes | Terminal |
|---|---|---|
| Screen / braid (shield) | Screen | 1 |
| Brown (br/BN) | Measuring electrode | 2 |
| White (ws/WH) | Reference electrode | 3 |
| Blue (bu/BU) | Counter electrode | 4 |
Power cord
85–265 V AC instruments (typical EU/US mains cord supplied with the unit):
| Wire color | Notes | Terminal |
|---|---|---|
| Black (sw/SW) | Live / line (L) | L |
| White (ws/WH) | Neutral (N) | N |
| Green/yellow (gn-ge/GNYE) | Protective earth (PE) — ground | PE |
Regional variants (EU cord): Brown (br/BN) is often live (L) and blue (bu/BU) is neutral (N)—always follow the cord markings and local installation rules. Green/yellow (gn-ge/GNYE) is protective earth (PE), not neutral; do not connect PE to the N terminal.
24 V DC instruments: Use the green power terminal block inside the enclosure: + = black, − = white, PE (ground) = yellow/green. Kuntze does not supply a power cord for 24 VDC units.
Installation Notes
- Disconnect power before wiring or re-terminating any cable.
- Only qualified personnel may perform electrical connections.
- Do not open the enclosure while the instrument is connected to a power supply.
- Verify terminal numbers before energizing the system.
- Use a small screwdriver to secure conductors in the screw terminals.
- Check strain relief and shield continuity after connection.
